Although the safety of idols is not my main priority, I wish for the safety of anyone who is at risk. My thoughts are with those who have lost those close to them and the people who are missing. I’m not religious, so I can’t pray for them, but I will hope with everything I can for everyone affected by the incident.
But of course, there is at least some concern for the celebrities as well, not only in myself but in others as well. So here are those confirmed to be safe in Japan or they have returned home to Korea, just to put some people’s minds at rest.
Japanese idols
It has been reported that no native idols in Japan have been harmed, reported missing and such in the disaster.
2NE1
Girlband 2NE1 were the first of the Korean celebrities who were confirmed to be safe. Due to reservation problems at the airport, only Leader CL has returned to Korea at the moment, but the other three girls are to return to Korea on a later flight. I will update when such happens. Their Japanese debut has also been postponed.
Kara
They were also one of the first groups to be reported as safe and all of the girls have now returned safely to Seoul, Korea.
Dae Guk Nam Ah
Confirmed safe by their official twitter (which I think is run by their manager) and the boys had also posted tweets on their accounts saying they were fine. As of yet, there is no news of them returning to Korea.
Junsu of JYJ
Brian Joo, formerly of Fly To The Sky expressed severe worry for Junsu although a news site had confirmed it he wasn’t going to rest until he heard from the person himself. But a representative of Junsu got in contact with Brian and told him that Junsu had no phone signal so this was why he could not get to him. He is reported to be returning to Korea.
SHU-I
The boyband were confirmed to be safe by JunYoung of One Way tweeting saying they were safe which was then retweeted by HyungJun of SHU-I. As they mainly promote in Japan, it doesn’t seem they are returning to Korea at the moment.
Shin Min Ah, Kim Hyun Joon, Han Hyo Joo and Yoon Hyung Bin
All of them have been confirmed safe. No news of them returning apart from Yoon Hyung Bin who was reported to be stuck at an airport in Japan but it has also been said that he will return on a later flight. This I will again update on if I hear anything.
SHINee
Fans have expressed worry as there have not been reports of the boys being safe, I can confirm to you that they are in Korea, not Japan.
